Quick Giggle: Safety Dance

The 2 minutes and 24 seconds encompassed in this video contain 47 different shades of bizarre.  I know, because I counted.

Strangely enough, according to Pantone – whoever that is – Tangerine Tango is going to be 2012’s hottest color.  It’s also a color prominently featured in this music video.  I can’t decide if that adds another shade of bizarre to the whole thing, or if it takes a shade away.

At any rate, I’d like to say thank you, 80’s, for giving us so much fodder for giggling.  And for teaching us that dancing is a make-or-break fundamental foundation of friendship.

It is bizarre, isn’t it? I know because I break out into that song every once in a while and my kids look at me like I’M bizarre! lol ~ perhaps I am..

Love the music and the message, Myndi. Not sure where you find these gems. Not sure I want to know, but keep them coming.

Will replay as soon as hubby leaves. My dogs will dance with me, He’ll think I have too much time on my hands and will bring me a list, AARGH.

Hmmm, I remember when this was a ‘world premier’ video on MTV. Guess I’m kind of old. It still makes me smile when I see the video or the song comes up on my iPod, because yes, I must have all the cool 80’s songs on my iPod! Those were some rockin’ days.

‘…we can act real cool like we’re out of this world and leave the real one far behind… we can dance (und sing!)…’ Now those are some stellar lyrics.

    Thanks for the giggle, Myndi!

LOL! I love how very serious he is singing this song. Very clear that it’s an important message to him, close to his heart. 🙂 I always wanted MTV so badly growing up – jealous! My dad threw out the TV when I was seven, so I missed out on all sorts of pop culture from my childhood. Bummer. Thank goodness for YouTube – I can make up for lost time!

Yeah, that was definitely weird. And funny because I didn’t see any actual dancing. They should have said, “We can hop, jump, and make creepy faces if we want to.” I wonder why he kept looking at the sky like he was having a psychotic break or a bad reaction to some 80’s club drugs?
