It’s been a good week. Like, a really good week. I’m trying really hard to soak it in, savor it, because I know that life can be a wishy-washy little bastard, and the lows are bound to return. But this isn’t a low spot. It’s a high one. And I’m grinning ear to ear.
Thanks so much, you guys, for all the support with the launch for The Darkening. It’s been so much fun to watch those rankings rise (or drop, however you want to look at it). It’s been AMAZING to get feedback, and hear the excitement the book is generating.
Couple of little housekeeping things:
ONE: Did you know that I’m doing a month-long chat over at Goodreads? Follow this link and join in the conversations, or start your own. I check back there a few times a day to answer questions and stuff. I’d LOVE to visit with you!!
TWO: If you read The Darkening, I’d love it if you left a review. Amazon, Smashwords, Goodreads, wherever – reviews are LIFEBLOOD for authors, especially an indie like me who’s still trying to make a name for herself. I don’t care if you loved or hated the book (but, c’mon, you loved it, right?) – I really really really truly really need reviews. Am I begging? Yeah, sort-of. *throws pouty look your way*
THREE: Read An Ebook Week is still going strong over at Smashwords! Shrilugh is FREE (click here), and The Darkening is only TWO BUCKS (click here)! How amazing is that? Please tell everybody you know, and feel free to gift Shrilugh to anybody you think might enjoy it. Then they’ll be like, “Wow, so-and-so bought me a book! How thoughtful is that? I must return the favor and buy them a 100 year old bottle of Scotch!”, and you’ll be all like, “Hee, hee, hee, I’m SO not telling them that book was free! SUCKER!”, and I’ll be all like, “Yay! Somebody new got my book!”, and then we’ll all be dancing around our houses in undies and t-shirts singing into imaginary microphones while the family cat looks on with his usual bemused expression.
….um…
That escalated quickly.
*cough*
Okay. I think that’s enough. Let’s move on to more important things. Like this week’s Quick Giggle. A little warning: There is some rough language, but this one had meΒ literally LOLing, so I’m going with it. Anybody who’s ever had a substitute teacher who was a little big for his britches should get a kick out of it. Enjoy!
So very happy for you and all the exposure your books are getting. Keep at it and I hope you continue to see a trend of positive results π
Thanks Angela!
Love Key & Peele. I remember when this aired. Soooo funny. Congrats on your book! Is it your first?
The Hubster and I were LOLing all over the place!
Thanks! The Darkening is my second book, and is the second in a four-part series. Shrilugh was the first. I hope you check them out! π Thanks for popping in!
Definitely I will head to Goodreads and join the discussion. Somehow I missed that you were having one. Cool idea. I’ve seen the Substitute Teacher video and OMG I love it! I about fell off my chair laughing the first time I saw it. π
Yay! Can’t wait to see you there.
And yeah, this video is hilarious. The Hubster and I had a ball re-pronouncing all our family names sub-style. The family pet is now gin-GEER (instead of Ginger) and Liam is el-I-am. π
Ha ha Mind Eye (in substitute teacher speak). Hey, just put a review on Amazon for the Darkening. Congratulations! It’s a very fun book. Just passed it on to my 21 year old, and she’s immersed.
LOL! The Hubster and I laughed so hard – his name is Thomas….you can put it together. *giggle, snort*
Thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to review The Darkening – those reviews mean the world to me. Seriously.
And I’m so happy your daughter’s enjoying it, too – tell her I said hello!
