I’m currently re-reading Outlander. The Hubster is very kindly watching the series with me, and since it’d been awhile since I read it I thought I’d pick it up and see how it compares with the show. So far I feel like the two compliment each other beautifully!
I’m also eager to get my hands on The Writer’s Coloring Book – I think it will help me with a new story I’m working on (working title: HYPOCRITES).
My TBR pile is ever growing (a problem I’m sure many of you can relate with), but I’m looking forward to finally picking up The Signature of All Things. A sweet reader-turned-friend sent me a copy about a lifetime ago and I still haven’t opened it (#bookfriendcrime). Will start it after I finish Outlander.
I’m also looking forward to reading some advance copies from some of my favorite Indie authors…will give you more details after the reading has happened. 🙂
RECKONING UPDATE:
Work on RECKONING is coming along well! I finally finished going through my editor’s notes, and am doing one final read-through before I send it back to her. We’re getting closer! One of my favorite scenes so far involves Hamilton and Rein reminiscing about their days in the Guard (which may or may not have included some cross-dressing shenanigans).

Stephen King tweeted that it scared him, so I thought I’d give it a try since it’s really hard to scare me these days. It succeeded! In fact, I had to stop reading for a few minutes because I kept hearing that scary noise from The Grudge in my head (or at least I hope it was in my head). I started it last night and finished it just a few minutes ago. I think it’s one of those that has sticking power as I keep thinking about it.
Oooooh, I’ve been itching for a good scary book – I always get that urge when autumn shows up. DEFINITELY going to check this one out!!! Thanks for the link!
I am working on the Outlander series, 3/4 of the way through the 2nd book. I’m obsessed. I only got through half of the book my book club was reading because I can’t leave Jamie Fraser behind. LOL
My book club read The Boys in the Boat which is also phenomenal. Happy reading!
I can SOOOOO relate! I started reading the first one and then one of my readers-turned-friends started having Amazon deliver the subsequent books to my doorstep, and there was no hope for any other book for MONTHS. If you ever need someone to gush with over Jamie I’m your girl. Oh God, and wee Roger, too. Mercy.

I’ve got my sister addicted too now too. Just purchased some Outlander swag for her to save for Christmas. Kinda want it myself. I preordered volume 2 of season 1. Sept. 29th can’t come soon enough!!
I KNOW!! We cancelled our cable before the second half of the season so I’m DYING to watch the rest. DYING. DYYYYYYYYYYYING.

Outlander is on my TBR list right now. I read it ages ago, but I definitely need to reread it. The series is sooooo good!
I’m reading Year of Wonder for a book club, and although I’m not mesmerized by it, I’m enjoying it. It’s a historical fiction about the plague.

I can’t decide if this makes me want to read the book or go use the entire contents of hand sanitizer (#secretfearofplaguepartdeux).

I am reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. My husband recommended it to me, actually. It is a good read. It is about two magicians and is set in early 19th century England. One thing that I LOVE about it is the footnotes throughout referencing different books on magic or the history of magic as if it were a non-fiction book and magic were real. So creative!
I have to admit it is taking me awhile to read and it was slow to start, but definitely worth the read. I have no idea how the author is going to end it or where she is taking it, which I appreciate. And I am especially excited since the BBC has made a series based on the book that I cannot wait to see!

That sounds SO GOOD! Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter was kinda like that, with the footnotes and all. One of my favorite fun reads. 🙂
