It’s been a good week. Like, a really good week. I’m trying really hard to soak it in, savor it, because I know that life can be a wishy-washy little bastard, and the lows are bound to return. But this isn’t a low spot. It’s a high one. And I’m grinning ear to ear.
Thanks so much, you guys, for all the support with the launch for The Darkening. It’s been so much fun to watch those rankings rise (or drop, however you want to look at it). It’s been AMAZING to get feedback, and hear the excitement the book is generating.
Couple of little housekeeping things:
ONE: Did you know that I’m doing a month-long chat over at Goodreads? Follow this link and join in the conversations, or start your own. I check back there a few times a day to answer questions and stuff. I’d LOVE to visit with you!!
TWO: If you read The Darkening, I’d love it if you left a review. Amazon, Smashwords, Goodreads, wherever – reviews are LIFEBLOOD for authors, especially an indie like me who’s still trying to make a name for herself. I don’t care if you loved or hated the book (but, c’mon, you loved it, right?) – I really really really truly really need reviews. Am I begging? Yeah, sort-of. *throws pouty look your way*
THREE: Read An Ebook Week is still going strong over at Smashwords! Shrilugh is FREE (click here), and The Darkening is only TWO BUCKS (click here)! How amazing is that? Please tell everybody you know, and feel free to gift Shrilugh to anybody you think might enjoy it. Then they’ll be like, “Wow, so-and-so bought me a book! How thoughtful is that? I must return the favor and buy them a 100 year old bottle of Scotch!”, and you’ll be all like, “Hee, hee, hee, I’m SO not telling them that book was free! SUCKER!”, and I’ll be all like, “Yay! Somebody new got my book!”, and then we’ll all be dancing around our houses in undies and t-shirts singing into imaginary microphones while the family cat looks on with his usual bemused expression.
That escalated quickly.
Okay. I think that’s enough. Let’s move on to more important things. Like this week’s Quick Giggle. A little warning: There is some rough language, but this one had me literally LOLing, so I’m going with it. Anybody who’s ever had a substitute teacher who was a little big for his britches should get a kick out of it. Enjoy!
