Quick Giggle: Total Eclipse of the Heart…Literally

Total Eclipse of the Heart.  80’s power-ballad love-song staple, right?  But the video…oh, the video was(is) so ridiculous, it’s a very easy target for mocking.  Someone took the job of mocking it very seriously, and dubbed in their own lyrics, describing oh-so-poetically what’s happening in the video:  “I walk onto a terrace where I think I’m alone, but Arthur Fonzarelli’s got an army of clones…”

Hope this gives you as many giggles as it did me!

Holy crap that was funny! I think my two favorite lines were, “You can tell by the look on my face it’s been long time since I’ve been with a man.” and “F-ing crap, that angel guy just felt me up.” But, there were so many other good ones. I actually loved that song as a kid, but I never saw the video. Thank goodness, because I would have had some serious nightmares.

I just laughed my @ss off. Hang on, I’m still giggling. … *wiping eyes* Whew! I happen to LOVE that song and now I’ll never hear it the same again. One of my favorite moments, and there were many, was what Emma said, “F-ing crap, the angel guy just felt me up.” with the look on her face!! hahahahaha

Off to RT and share the heck out of this. Everyone deserves the laugh I just had!

Thank, Myndi. How do you find this stuff? 🙂

I totally have to clean off my monitor now…I just spewed coffee all over it! LOL. I haven’t seen that video in years, but I remember liking it at the time. This has to be the best mocking ever! Tooooo funny. I loved the “look at me now I’m raising my arms”. Ah, Myndi, thanks for the giggles! Too fun!

Omg, this is a RIOT, and I can’t even decide which my favorite line is. The first time I ever saw this video, I was sitting in a restaurant in Paris that happened to be playing some MTV knock-off station, and I was SO weirded out. I can’t even imagine what the brainstorming session for the production team looked like. “Yeah, I know, we have to add some demon choir kids!”

I now have to go and share this video with EVERYONE. :DDD

excuse me, but I remember vividly staying home and watching 10 hours of MTV at time, to see the “original” version of this very, very moving, heart-felt video. (not) and I’m appalled, I tell you appalled that someone would mess with a perfectly decent, over-th-top musical commercial. Have you no heart??????
    xoxoxoxo to my Myndster!

OMG what a riot!! You almost have to listen to it several times to catch everything. The original is one of my favorite songs but I’ve never seen the music video. Even with the normal lyrics what a crazy creepy video. I guess that’s normal for the 80s. That is truly talented comedy writing.
